Frequently asked questions

What these quizzes can and cannot tell you, and what happens to your answers.

Are these quizzes a diagnosis of an eating disorder?

No. Every quiz on Anti-Diet Club is reflective, not diagnostic. It cannot confirm or rule out an eating disorder. Only a qualified clinician, after a full assessment, can diagnose. The quizzes exist to help you notice patterns and to give you words for a conversation with a professional you trust.

How do I know if my relationship with food is healthy?

A peaceful relationship with food usually means you can eat when hungry, stop when comfortably full, eat foods you enjoy without negotiating or compensating, and think about food without it crowding out the rest of your life. Rigid rules, guilt after eating, or planning your day around meals are signals worth exploring, not moral failures.

Am I dieting without realising it?

Modern diet culture rarely uses the word diet. It shows up as clean eating, a lifestyle change, cutting out a food group, fasting windows, tracking macros, or earning food with exercise. If a way of eating comes with rules you feel anxious about breaking, it functions like a diet, whatever it is called.

What is body neutrality and how is it different from body positivity?

Body positivity asks you to love how your body looks. Body neutrality removes appearance from the centre of the conversation entirely, focusing instead on what your body lets you do and feel. For many people in recovery, neutrality is a kinder and far more reachable first step than love.

When should I speak to a professional about my eating?

Reach out early rather than waiting for a crisis. Good reasons include eating that feels out of control, restriction, purging or compensatory exercise, food thoughts that dominate your day, avoiding meals with other people, or distress about your body that affects your mood, work or relationships. You do not need to be at any particular weight to deserve support.
